Thom Yorke

The solo album from the one and only thom yorke, frontman of widely acclaimed rock band Radiohead, economy activist and the often seen collaborating under the name of Dr. Tchock with visual artist Stanley Donwood (pen name of Dan Rickwood)
This album was a chance for thom to create a sound that he wanted to put into his own album, with a lot of the sounds and rhythms dating back far in thoms musical career locked away in his head, apart from two songs, the title track and "Black Swan", use samples of recordings made by other members of Radiohead. The album debuted at #3 on the UK Albums Chart and at #2 on the Billboard 200 in the United States, selling over 90,000 copies in its first week. The album was producing by long-time friend and producer Nigel Godrich. Yorke described the album as 'more beats and electronics', and said he didnt 'want to hear the word solo', disproving theories of radiohead 'splitting up', he described producing this album as doing with the fans' 'Blessing'.

A lot of the lyrics are inspired by the issue of climate change. Yorke was a spokesman for Friends of the Earth's "The Big Ask" campaign to reduce carbon emissions, as was recently seen at the Copenhagen 15 Climate Change summit, to which he described his utter disgrace 'nothing [had] been done'. He posted on the Radiohead website about this.

The Artwork was created by Stanley Donwood (He has worked with Yorke only almost all of the radiohead artwork) and it includes iconic London buildings that have been swept away by the Thames, including the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament and the Thames Barrier.

Yorke has said this for environmental reasons, The Eraser CD packaging was made of cardboard and it does not contain any plastic.
I strongly advise you buy this album if you like what you hear, as contradictive as this sound, this guy really deserves every penny.
