Illumination

Illumination is the debut album from australian electro-pop/funk band Miami Horror. Miami Horror can refer to its producer/DJ, Benjamin Plant, or its four-piece live incarnation. Influenced by dance-pop artists of the 1970s and '80s such as Prince and ABBA, Plant first made a name for himself using the moniker 'Miami Horror' with a series of remixes that include Stardust's "Music Sounds Better with You" and Tegan and Sara's "Walking with a Ghost", along with contemporary Australian acts such as the Midnight Juggernauts and Grafton Primary.

Plant began his music career playing house party and regular weekly Melbourne club nights. He has since remixed Pnau, The Presets, Bloc Party, Datarock and The Dirty Secrets. Miami Horror has also collaborated with Melbourne electro-pop group Gameboy/Gamegirl. As Miami Horror, Plant made his commercial debut in 2008 with a five-track EP, 'Bravado', on Virgin Records. Miami Horror has since been signed to EMI Music for distribution in Australia and France.
